Bone Carving

Bone Carving created at the time of the Centenary of the Congregation - 1992.

Bone CarvingThe Cross: Symbol of Jesus, our call to love in sacrifice.

The Fern Fronds: Symbol of the Congregation's roots in New Zealand.

The Upper Frond: Represents God who calls us to mission.

The Lower Frond: Represents Our Lady of Compassion at the Foot of the Cross.

The Fronds Together: Symbol of all embracing Compassion.

Inspiration for this logo came from our own crest.

In reproducing the symbol, the original shape has changed. The fronds are not supposed to be a letter 'C'. However, the curve of the two fronds can represent Compassion - all embracing.

There is more information about the logo was designed by Sr Annette Green in 1991.
