Heretaunga St Joseph’s Home of Compassion
 The Home at Heretaunga is in a quiet and pleasant location, yet close to the active community of Upper Hutt. In keeping with the philosophy of the Sisters of Compassion, we offer Rest Home care, Hospital care, Dementia care, respite care and day care in a compassionate environment. People of all religious persuasions, or none, are equally welcome here. We have: 77 single rooms with pleasant outlook A purpose built dementia unit A chapel where Mass is offered daily Visiting at all times A full recreational Programme which offers a variety of activities including visiting entertainment, outings, exercises, craft, cooking, board games, bowls, reminiscence, special celebrations, and cooking Comfortable lounges, two with tea/coffee facilities for visitors Occupational therapy and physiotherapy services as needed 
Residents within the rest home and hospital may have their own phones. The spacious grounds are flat and easily accessed and there are internal courtyards for resident access and use.
