Scientists in Wellington have begun uncorking bottles of natural remedies made 100 years ago to find out what plants were in the used to make the remedies.

Some 10 years ago the Sisters of Compassion sold land to the neighbouring Tapu te Ranga Marae. To acknowledge the year of Jubilee and the relationship between the Sisters of Compassion and the People of the Land, this year the sisters have written off the $100,000 mortgage they held on the land.

The Mother Aubert Home of Compassion Trust Board has extended its services to the community by purchas the Upper Hutt City Council’s Elderly Person’s Housing Units to ensure that there is affordable accommodation for pensioners in the area.

The choir had been practising all week, and were as good as any in the world. The ceremony took about two hours - the Bishop said the mass in Tongan - I am not sure what he had to say, but he made the most of having a captive Congregation.

Carterton-Wairarapa, 14th of September we celebrated with Sister Walburga (Rose) Marchant her Diamond Jubilee. he following day another celebration. Sisters Flora (Doff) Walsh and Pat Crombie celebrated with Mass and an afternoon tea at Island Bay (Our Lady's Home of Compassion).
