Parent Help

Parent Help provides an integrated parenting support service. We offer a telephone helpline, an in-house counselling and family therapy service, anger change programmes, and parenting education.

The helpline 499 9994 is available 24 hours a day to provide a confidential listening ear, support and advice for parents and caregivers.
Our qualified counsellors help parents who have behavioural difficulties with their children or relationship problems.
Anger Change is a small group programme for mothers concerned they may physically or emotionally harm their child.
We run parenting courses on request, for both groups and individuals.

We have been offering services to Wellington families since 1989. We cater for all parenting issues from the smallest problem to the most serious issues of abuse. We are affiliated to Jigsaw – a national child abuse prevention organisation.

Parent Help is a community agency run mainly by volunteers. They comprise our governance board, answer our telephone helpline, and assist with fundraising and administration.
