Easing loneliness starts with listening

Easing loneliness starts with listening

For many older people living alone in Compassion Housing, being heard can change everything. A simple conversation can ease loneliness, lift wellbeing, and restore a sense of belonging.

That connection matters more now, than ever. A recent Age Concern study found almost 60% of Kiwis aged 65+ recently felt lonely or socially isolated.

Diane, our Nurse Advocate in Horowhenua, supports more than 115 residents across Levin, Foxton, and Shannon. She connects them with essential services — but just as importantly, she’s often the one person who takes the time to listen.

Your donation today helps ensure Diane can continue regular visits, especially to those with no family nearby. You’ll be helping ensure residents have a safe home and someone who genuinely connects with them.
